Designer Flake Floors
Granite Hybrid Flake Floors With A Refined Stone Look
Granite hybrid flake brings a tighter, more dimensional pattern to concrete that must work hard without looking like a typical utility floor.
Granite Flake Flooring For Rooms That Deserve More Than A Utility Finish
Standard flake fits a working garage. Granite hybrid serves homeowners who want the same practical build with a more composed visual. Its closely blended pattern reads like continuous stone from across the room, then reveals layered color up close. It suits finished basements, home gyms, man caves, showrooms, and garages where the floor is part of the design.
We diamond-grind the slab, repair defects, and install a three-layer hybrid system: hybrid epoxy/polyurea base coat, full flake broadcast to refusal, and a UV-stable polyaspartic floor coating on top. Grinding creates the profile needed for bonding. It is preparation, not a coating layer.
High Caliber is a family-owned, fully insured installer based at 11007 Chicago Drive in Zeeland. Our two-hour service radius includes the Grand Rapids concrete coating market and West Michigan lakeshore. A 5.0 Google rating across 136+ reviews gives you local work to check before hiring us.

Why Choose A Designer Flake Floor
The premium comes from the blend and the system beneath it.
A More Finished Visual
The multitone field softens the bold chip pattern of utility garages, letting furniture and cabinetry lead the room.
Full-Broadcast Coverage
Flake is broadcast to refusal across the wet base, forming an even field instead of a light decorative scatter.
UV-Stable Wear Surface
The polyaspartic topcoat avoids the yellowing that plain exposed epoxy can develop near windows or open garage doors.
Traction At No Added Charge
Anti-slip additive is included in the topcoat for basement entries, garage thresholds, and floors reached with wet shoes.

Stone-Look Concrete Coating vs. Standard Garage Flake
A classic garage floor coating uses a visible chip pattern and straightforward workshop character. Granite hybrid looks more integrated beside finished trim, built-ins, exercise equipment, or a display vehicle.
This is a coating over prepared concrete, not sheet flooring or quarried granite. Judge the complete blend rather than one chip. A quiet neutral can support basement furniture, while deeper contrast can make sand and winter residue less noticeable between garage cleanings.

What Does A Granite Hybrid Flake Floor Cost?
Plan on about $5 to $9 per square foot for a professionally installed flake floor in West Michigan. Granite hybrid is a premium visual upgrade, so the blend, total area, layout, and concrete condition affect the figure. A sound rectangle prices differently than a divided basement with pitting, cracks, stem walls, and stairs.
We inspect the slab before pricing because repairs, moisture, existing coatings, and difficult edges change the work required. High Caliber then provides a free, fixed, itemized quote with the scope and approved total stated before installation.
- Floor size and layout: open rectangles coat more efficiently than rooms with many edges
- Concrete condition: cracks, pitting, and failed coatings require correction first
- Selected surfaces: stairs, vertical edges, and stem walls add detailed handwork
- Moisture findings: a damp slab may call for basement floor epoxy beneath the finish

The Finish Depends On What Happens Before The Flake
A premium blend cannot hide a weak bond. Our grinders open the concrete mechanically so the base attaches to a properly profiled surface. Acid etching is never used. Cracks and damaged spots are addressed before color covers them.
Each coat receives its intended cure time. The base anchors the system, the broadcast builds the stone-like field, and clear polyaspartic becomes the wear surface. Care at walls, doorways, and drains matters in a finished interior.

How We Build The Granite Hybrid Finish
Six controlled steps take the slab from diamond-ground concrete to a cured stone-look surface, with the required cure time between coats.
1Grind & Prepare
We diamond-grind the concrete to a clean, porous profile so the coating bonds permanently.
2Repair & Clean
Cracks, pits, and spalls are filled and leveled, then industrial vacuums pull off every trace of dust.
3Hybrid Base Coat
A pigmented polyurea/epoxy blend is rolled and back-rolled into the prepped slab for full coverage.
4Broadcast the Flake
Your chosen flake blend is hand-broadcast to full refusal while the base is wet.
5Polyaspartic Topcoat
A UV-stable topcoat locks the system in — scratch resistant, chemical resistant, easy to clean.
6Final Walkthrough
We inspect every square foot with you and hand over a floor that's ready to live on for years.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does granite hybrid flake flooring cost?
Use roughly $5 to $9 per square foot as a West Michigan planning range. Granite hybrid is a premium finish, and repairs, layout, stairs, moisture, and total area affect the number. High Caliber confirms the scope with a free fixed itemized quote.
Is granite hybrid flake flooring real granite?
It is a layered concrete coating with a granite-like visual, not quarried stone. The build combines a hybrid epoxy/polyurea base, full flake broadcast to refusal, and a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat.
How is granite hybrid different from a regular flake floor?
Regular garage flake has a more obvious chip pattern, while granite hybrid creates a tighter stone effect. Both rely on mechanical preparation and the same three coating stages when High Caliber installs them.
How long does installation take before I can use the floor?
Timing depends on access, repairs, and cure conditions. We allow each material to cure properly between stages. Your crew provides exact foot-traffic and move-in timing for the project.
Can granite flake flooring handle a Michigan garage?
Yes. It uses the full-broadcast approach and polyaspartic wear surface chosen for working garages. Anti-slip additive is included, and the sealed finish keeps snowmelt residue off bare concrete.

Google ReviewsWould highly recommend. No pressure sales, quality product, great communication and quality installation. I met Jeff at the home show. I was drawn into his booth by his very enthusiast kids. I got the immediate impression this was a family oriented business and that was reinforced by the conversation with both Jeff and his young son. These values drew me to this business. I signed up for a quote. Shortly after the show Jeff came to my home to present options and provide a quote. No pressure to buy, Jeff understood I needed to get thru tax season before I could be sure about my budget. Over the course of next few months Jeff was responsive to any questions I had and we got the job scheduled. Jeff provided a trailer in the quote to store contents of garage while job was being done, which was very helpful. When talking with others about the quote I learned my price was equal to or less than what neighbors had paid up to six years ago, so I felt this was good pricing. I had thought there would be a ton of dust and a big mess when grinding surface, but the machines had a vacuum attached, clean and efficient work. I was impressed that they coated steps and side walls as well as floor. No mess on drywall or driveway. Crew doing installation were great guys. They took time to fill me in on the process of installation, what to expect, how long for surface to cure and when I could empty trailer. Post install Jeff stopped out to grab trailer, filled me in on what to use and how to clean the floor. VERY happy with the whole process from sales to install to follow up. LOVE my new garage.
I can not express how awesome my garage floor looks. Your crew did a phenomenal job, we'll probably be the envy of the neighborhood now. Very polite, cleaned up the area, fast amazing job! My only complaint was the floor was going to look great so my wife said we had to clean out and paint all the walls and shelving, but it was worth it. Thank you again.
Wow! Jeff and Mike were amazing to partner with for my garage floor renovation! They did an amazing job but more importantly, they communicated directly with me thru texts, reminders, and in person! Jeff and his team left my garage and exterior area cleaner than when they arrived and gave clear instructions on follow up care needed for my new floor! I would highly recommend High Caliber Concrete Coatings anytime!
The floor looks awesome. What an improvement !!! The installers where also top notch. Communicated the plans and details clearly.
Jeff and his crew did an awesome job. Jeff was very prompt with his quote, his timeliness of service and his responses back to any questions I had. The closed trailer Jeff offers for use for garage contents during the work was such a great idea. It made my prep work and garage reload minimal. Jeff's workcrew was timely, hard working and very, very polite. Their clean up work was super! I did not have to do anything but reload my contents. I am beyond happy with the finished project and would recommend High Caliber for a successful experience!! I love that they are a local business and support their exceptional work ethic and results!
Jeff and his team did the most amazing job epoxy floor coating my 38 year old garage floor. Outstanding, professional, skilled, great communication. Highly recommended.
