Commercial Epoxy Flooring in Kentwood, MI

Kentwood floors work for a living. We prepare and finish warehouse, office support, shop, and residential garage concrete for rolling loads, winter residue, and daily cleanup.

Concrete Coatings for Kentwood Warehouses and Garages

The office and warehouse corridor around 44th Street puts very different demands on concrete than a quiet spare room. Stock movement, service traffic, tracked-in grit, and repeated cleaning all expose weak preparation quickly. High Caliber starts by reading the slab and the way the space operates, then recommends a finish that fits both.

For a coated floor, the build begins with mechanical diamond grinding. The three working layers are a hybrid epoxy/polyurea base coat, a full flake broadcast to refusal, and a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. The epoxy stays protected underneath while the topcoat becomes the cleanable wear surface. If the existing slab needs coating removal or corrective profiling first, our concrete grinding service handles that preparation. Acid etching is never part of the process.

Kentwood's residential concrete tells another story. Garages attached to homes built from the 1980s through the 2000s may look similar from the driveway, yet years of salt, tire traffic, storage, and prior repairs leave each slab with its own condition. We measure and inspect before specifying the system.

Which Commercial Concrete Finish Fits a Kentwood Building?

A full flake coating makes sense where a business wants a continuous, finished surface that hides normal scuffs and cleans easily. It can give a customer-facing work area a more deliberate appearance while still serving back-of-house traffic. Flake color and texture also help connect offices, service rooms, and warehouse-adjacent spaces without pretending every zone has identical demands.

Not every commercial slab needs resin. Polished concrete floors suit facilities that want the concrete itself refined to a durable sheen, while grind and seal concrete keeps a more direct, industrial character under a protective sealer. We compare the slab, desired appearance, maintenance plan, sunlight, and traffic before steering the project toward one system.

  • Full flake coating: a textured, continuous finish for shops, support spaces, and hard-working interior floors
  • Polished concrete: a refined concrete surface for warehouses, offices, retail, and modern interiors
  • Grind and seal: an exposed-concrete look with a protective sealed finish

Garage Floor Coatings for Kentwood Homes From the 1980s Through 2000s

Kentwood's varied housing stock means garage slabs have reached different stages of wear. One may only need thorough profiling, while another carries open cracks, pitting, old paint, or oil contamination from decades of parking. Those conditions are handled during preparation rather than covered and forgotten.

Our garage floor coating uses the same three-layer logic as a hard-working commercial system, scaled to the homeowner's traffic and finish choice. Full flake masks everyday marks, the polyaspartic wear layer handles sunlight at the open door, and included traction additive helps when snowmelt comes off the vehicle. Plain epoxy left exposed can amber in UV, which is why we use it only where it performs best, in the protected base.

A Zeeland Contractor Serving Kentwood's South Metro Edge

High Caliber is a local, family-owned, certified, and fully insured contractor based at 11007 Chicago Dr Unit 24 in Zeeland. Kentwood falls within our regular two-hour West Michigan service radius, so the trip east from our shop is part of the territory we serve for residential, commercial, and industrial concrete.

The work does not stop at the city line. Property owners can explore epoxy flooring in Cutlerville for the established neighborhoods to the south, or garage floor coatings in Wyoming for the dense residential and light-industrial areas to the west. Kentwood remains its own brief: working floors near the 44th Street corridor and garages spanning several decades of suburban construction.

What a Kentwood Working Floor Needs

The finish has to match the building, the traffic pattern, and the condition underfoot.

Specified for Daily Traffic

Commercial floors are evaluated around their actual use, including rolling traffic, work zones, entrances, and the cleaning routine expected after installation.

Bonded to Prepared Concrete

Diamond grinding removes weak surface material and opens the slab so the base coat can bond into concrete instead of resting on a smooth or contaminated face.

Built for Kentwood Winters

A sealed wear surface keeps salty meltwater and gritty slush above the slab, giving facility staff and homeowners a floor they can clean instead of a porous surface that absorbs the mess.

Traction Is Part of the Build

Anti-slip additive is included in the topcoat at no extra charge. That matters at overhead doors, vehicle bays, and garage entrances where wet traffic arrives first.

Cure Time Stays in the Schedule

Each coat receives the cure time it requires before the next stage. Commercial scheduling is planned around that sequence instead of compromising the floor to shorten the calendar.

How a Kentwood Floor Moves From Slab to Service

We assess use and slab condition, diamond grind, repair defects, apply the hybrid epoxy/polyurea base, broadcast flake to refusal, and finish with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat after the proper cure intervals.

Kentwood Coating Questions

How much does commercial epoxy flooring cost in Kentwood, MI?

An honest price starts with square footage, slab condition, repairs, access, traffic requirements, and the selected finish. A warehouse floor needing coating removal has a different scope than clean concrete in an office support area. High Caliber provides a free, fixed, itemized quote after evaluating the actual project.

Is epoxy or polished concrete better for a Kentwood warehouse?

The answer depends on how the floor is used and how the facility should look. A full flake system creates a continuous coated finish with a replaceable wear surface. Polished concrete refines the existing slab itself and suits facilities that prefer a clean concrete appearance. We inspect the slab and discuss traffic, maintenance, and visual goals before recommending either.

Can you coat an older garage floor in Kentwood?

Yes, if the slab can be properly prepared and repaired. Age alone does not decide suitability. We look for cracks, pitting, contamination, weak surface concrete, existing coatings, and moisture conditions, then build the preparation scope around what is actually present.

Will a garage floor coating stand up to Michigan road salt?

The UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat creates a sealed wear surface that keeps salty snowmelt above the concrete for cleanup. Removing standing slush and grit remains good maintenance, but it happens on the coating instead of inside an absorbent bare slab.

How long does a commercial floor coating installation take?

The schedule depends on floor area, concrete repairs, access, site conditions, and cure requirements between layers. We establish the sequence after inspection and tell the facility when foot or vehicle traffic can safely return. Required cure time is never traded away to force a shorter schedule.

Why is acid etching not used on Kentwood concrete?

Acid etching is never used for coating preparation. Mechanical diamond grinding removes weak material, opens the surface profile, and gives the base coat clean concrete to bond with.

Would highly recommend. No pressure sales, quality product, great communication and quality installation. I met Jeff at the home show. I was drawn into his booth by his very enthusiast kids. I got the immediate impression this was a family oriented business and that was reinforced by the conversation with both Jeff and his young son. These values drew me to this business. I signed up for a quote. Shortly after the show Jeff came to my home to present options and provide a quote. No pressure to buy, Jeff understood I needed to get thru tax season before I could be sure about my budget. Over the course of next few months Jeff was responsive to any questions I had and we got the job scheduled. Jeff provided a trailer in the quote to store contents of garage while job was being done, which was very helpful. When talking with others about the quote I learned my price was equal to or less than what neighbors had paid up to six years ago, so I felt this was good pricing. I had thought there would be a ton of dust and a big mess when grinding surface, but the machines had a vacuum attached, clean and efficient work. I was impressed that they coated steps and side walls as well as floor. No mess on drywall or driveway. Crew doing installation were great guys. They took time to fill me in on the process of installation, what to expect, how long for surface to cure and when I could empty trailer. Post install Jeff stopped out to grab trailer, filled me in on what to use and how to clean the floor. VERY happy with the whole process from sales to install to follow up. LOVE my new garage.

I can not express how awesome my garage floor looks. Your crew did a phenomenal job, we'll probably be the envy of the neighborhood now. Very polite, cleaned up the area, fast amazing job! My only complaint was the floor was going to look great so my wife said we had to clean out and paint all the walls and shelving, but it was worth it. Thank you again.

Wow! Jeff and Mike were amazing to partner with for my garage floor renovation! They did an amazing job but more importantly, they communicated directly with me thru texts, reminders, and in person! Jeff and his team left my garage and exterior area cleaner than when they arrived and gave clear instructions on follow up care needed for my new floor! I would highly recommend High Caliber Concrete Coatings anytime!

Jeff and his crew did an awesome job. Jeff was very prompt with his quote, his timeliness of service and his responses back to any questions I had. The closed trailer Jeff offers for use for garage contents during the work was such a great idea. It made my prep work and garage reload minimal. Jeff's workcrew was timely, hard working and very, very polite. Their clean up work was super! I did not have to do anything but reload my contents. I am beyond happy with the finished project and would recommend High Caliber for a successful experience!! I love that they are a local business and support their exceptional work ethic and results!
